Server management software provisions servers in your cloud account, deploys your code from git, handles SSL, backups and updates, and gives a team one place to see everything. The six options below cover the realistic choices in 2026. Prices were checked on each vendor's pricing page in October 2026, so confirm them before you buy.
The short answer
Pick Laravel Forge or Ploi if your estate is mostly Laravel and PHP. Pick RunCloud if you host many WordPress sites. Pick Cloudways if you want someone else to run the servers. Pick Coolify if you will operate the panel yourself. Pick Deployment if your team runs several stacks, such as PHP, Node.js, Next.js and Python, and wants servers in its own account with roles, an audit log and zero downtime releases on every plan.
Comparison table
| Software | Entry to top price | Best for | Where it is weaker |
|---|---|---|---|
| Laravel Forge | 12 to 39 USD a month, contact sales above | Laravel and PHP teams, Node.js and Next.js sites on the side | Zero downtime on one server only, Envoyer needed for multi-server |
| RunCloud | 9 to 399 USD a month | WordPress-heavy agencies, many small servers | Single user on lower plans, PHP-centered |
| Ploi | 0 to 36 USD a month | Laravel agencies who want low prices | No Python, Go or Rails stack named, no 24/7 support |
| Cloudways | Per server, Autonomous plans 99 to 399 USD | Managed hosting for WordPress and PHP | You do not own the servers, add-ons billed separately |
| Coolify | Open source, you run it | Engineers who like to self-host the panel | You carry upgrades, uptime and security of the panel |
| Deployment | 49 to 1 499 USD a month, yearly is half price | Agencies and teams with mixed stacks, roles and audit log | Higher entry price than PHP-only panels |
Laravel Forge
Forge is the reference panel for Laravel. Hobby is 12 USD for one external server plus unlimited Laravel VPS, Growth 19 and Business 39 USD. It also deploys Node.js, Nuxt and Next.js. Zero downtime deploys work on a single server, and multi-server releases need the separate Envoyer product. Read the Laravel Forge pricing breakdown or the Forge comparison.
RunCloud
RunCloud has four plans: Essentials 9 USD for one server, Professional 19 USD for 50, Business 49 USD for 100 servers and 10 seats with atomic deploy, API and WAF, and Enterprise 399 USD for 500 servers. It is strong for WordPress fleets. See RunCloud pricing and the RunCloud alternative.
Ploi
Ploi is the cheapest serious option: Free for 1 server, Basic 10 USD for 5, Pro 16 USD for 10 with zero downtime and backups, Unlimited 36 USD with team management. It is Laravel first with one-click WordPress and a Docker server type. Details in Ploi pricing and the Ploi alternative.
Cloudways
Cloudways is managed hosting rather than a panel on your own account. It bundles the cloud server and the management layer into one per-server price, which is convenient for a few WordPress sites and expensive for dozens of client servers. The Cloudways alternative page shows how to compare the cost against unbundled servers.
Coolify
Coolify is open source and you run the panel on your own server. That removes the subscription, and adds the work of upgrading it, securing it and keeping it up, because if the panel server is down you lose your deploy path. The Coolify comparison covers when a hosted panel is worth paying for.
Deployment
Deployment is a hosted control panel for servers in your own AWS, DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Linode or Vultr account, or bare metal over SSH. It deploys PHP, Node.js, Next.js, Python, Rails, Go, Java, .NET, static sites and Docker with the same git push workflow. Zero downtime releases with health checks run on every plan.
| Deployment plan | Monthly price | Servers | Sites | Members and extras |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 49 USD | 3 | 15 | 1 member |
| Team | 199 USD | 15 | 100 | 10 members, roles and audit log |
| Agency | 499 USD | 60 | Unlimited | 30 members |
| Enterprise | 1 499 USD | 250 | See plan details | SSO and SLA |
It costs more at the entry than a PHP-only panel, and it pays off when your apps are not all PHP or when you need multi-server zero downtime and team controls. Compare plans on the pricing page and test your own repository in the deploy demo.
How to choose
Start with what you deploy. If every app is Laravel, Forge or Ploi will serve you well and cost less. If clients bring WordPress, RunCloud fits. If you deploy Node.js, Next.js and Python next to PHP, you need a panel built for all of them, and the server control panel view of Deployment is the one to test.
Then count servers and people. Past about ten servers or five engineers, roles, an audit log and predictable per-fleet pricing start to matter more than the entry price. Once the fleet is large, you will also want someone paged when it breaks, which is what an on-call incident management tool handles after the panel tells you a deploy failed.
Finally, decide who owns the machines. Servers in your own cloud account can be handed to a client, audited by their security team and priced at the provider's rate. Bundled hosting cannot.
