Product questions

What is Deployment?

Deployment is a server management and deployment platform for every stack. You connect your own servers or cloud account, add a git repository, and Deployment provisions the server and ships every push with zero downtime.

How is Deployment different from a managed PaaS?

A managed PaaS runs your apps on its own infrastructure and bills per app and per usage. Deployment gives you the same push-to-deploy flow on servers in your own cloud account, so you pay your provider directly for compute and one flat plan for the panel.

Can I try Deployment before I pay?

Yes. The home page has a free one-time demo: paste a public repository and see the detected stack, server plan and the start of the deploy script. Plans start at 49 USD a month, or 24 USD a month billed yearly.

Can I edit the deploy script?

Yes. Each site has its own deploy script with detected defaults. You can add migrations, asset builds, cache warmups or any shell command, and every run is logged.

How does rollback work?

Deployment keeps your recent releases on disk in separate folders. Rollback points the current symlink to the previous release and restarts processes, so it takes seconds and rebuilds nothing.

Servers and security

Do I need to move my servers?

No. You connect servers you already run over SSH, or add a cloud API token and create new ones from the panel. Nothing is migrated to us.

Which clouds and operating systems are supported?

Any Ubuntu or Debian server reachable over SSH. Cloud integrations cover Hetzner, DigitalOcean, AWS, Vultr, Linode, Google Cloud, OVH, UpCloud and Scaleway.

What runs on my server?

Your web server (nginx or Caddy), the runtimes your sites need, the databases you choose, supervisor or systemd units for your processes and a dedicated SSH user for Deployment. Your traffic never passes through us.

What if your service is unavailable, do my apps stop?

No. Apps, databases, workers and cron jobs run on your servers and keep running. Only new deploys and panel actions wait until the control plane is reachable again.

How are secrets and environment variables protected?

Environment variables are encrypted at rest per environment and written to the server only during a deploy. Access is limited by roles, and every change is recorded in the audit log on Team plans and above.

Can I remove Deployment from a server later?

Yes. Disconnecting a server removes our SSH key and leaves your sites, databases, web server config and processes in place, so the apps keep running without us.

Stacks and deployments

Which languages and frameworks can I deploy?

PHP and Laravel, Node.js and Next.js, Python with Django, FastAPI or Flask, Ruby on Rails, Go, Java with Spring Boot, .NET, static sites and Docker with a Dockerfile or compose file.

Can different stacks share one server?

Yes. Each site gets its own runtime version, user, deploy script and processes, so a Laravel API and a Next.js frontend can run on the same server side by side.

Which git providers work?

GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket and any git URL reachable over SSH or HTTPS. Push to deploy works through a webhook, and you can also trigger deploys from CI through the API.

Do I get SSL certificates?

Yes. Every domain gets a free Let's Encrypt certificate that renews by itself. Wildcard certificates are issued through your DNS provider's API.

Billing and plans

How much does Deployment cost?

Starter is 49 USD a month, Team 199 USD, Agency 499 USD and Enterprise 1 499 USD. Yearly billing halves the price: 24, 99, 249 and 749 USD a month.

Can I cancel?

Yes, at any time from your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal and your access runs until the end of the period you paid for.

Do you offer refunds?

Payments are final. The only exceptions are a duplicate charge, a proven unauthorized charge or a complete outage of the service, as set out in the refund policy.

What happens when I change plans?

An upgrade applies at once and the price difference for the current period is charged immediately. A downgrade takes effect at the next billing period.

Is Enterprise self-serve?

Yes. Enterprise has a published price and the same Get started button as every other plan, with SSO, SLA, invoicing and priority support included.

Account and team

How do I create an account?

Click Get started, enter your work email and a password, then confirm the 6-digit code we send to your inbox.

Can I invite my team and clients?

Yes, on Team plans and above. Roles are owner, admin, developer and viewer, and access can be granted per server, which suits agencies that hand servers to clients.

How do I get help?

Logged-in users get help inside the panel. You can also email support@deployment.sh and we reply within one business day.
