Netlify pricing in 2026 and what credits really cost a busy team

Netlify Pro lists at 20 USD a month with 3,000 credits and unlimited members, Personal is 9 USD with 1,000 credits and Free is 0 USD with 300. Production deploys, bandwidth, compute and requests all draw down the same pool. A team that ships 150 production deploys, serves 100 GB and runs a few functions lands near 40 USD a month. Here is every line, plus the point where your own servers start to win.

Netlify plans and prices

Netlify sells four plans, and since the move to credits the plan fee is mostly a monthly credit allowance. These figures come from netlify.com/pricing.

PlanMonthly priceCredits per monthWho it suits
Free0 USD300Prototypes and small personal sites
Personal9 USD1,000One developer with a few live sites
Pro20 USD3,000Teams, with unlimited members

How Netlify credits work

Every billable action costs credits, and all of them come out of one monthly pool. Netlify lists these rates.

  • Production deploys. 15 credits each.
  • Bandwidth. 20 credits per GB.
  • Compute. 10 credits per GB-hour for functions.
  • Web requests. 2 credits per 10,000.

When the pool is gone you buy more. On Pro an extra pack of 1,500 credits is listed at 10 USD. That is a gentler failure than a surprise invoice, but it still makes the monthly total a forecast rather than a fixed number.

What a busy team pays on Netlify

Take a product team on Pro with a marketing site, a docs site and an app frontend. In one month it ships 150 production deploys, serves 100 GB of bandwidth, uses 40 GB-hours of function compute and handles 5M web requests. Prices in USD.

ItemUsageCredits
Production deploys150 x 152,250
Bandwidth100 GB x 202,000
Compute40 GB-hours x 10400
Web requests5M, 500 x 21,000
Total credits5,650
Included on Pro3,000
Shortfall2,650, so two packs of 1,5002 x 10 USD

The bill is the 20 USD plan plus 20 USD of packs, so 40 USD a month. That is not scary, and it is worth saying plainly: Netlify is cheap for this workload. The point is the shape. Deploy count and traffic both feed the same meter, so a team that moves to twice the releases and twice the traffic roughly doubles its overage.

Why Netlify bills grow

Three things push usage up without anyone choosing to spend more. Continuous deployment turns every merged pull request into 15 credits, so a healthy team that ships often pays for being healthy. Bandwidth at 20 credits per GB adds up for image and video heavy pages. And functions that start as a contact form handler tend to become an API. If you want an outside check that the live site still answers after each release, you can monitor the site from outside after every deploy with a separate uptime service.

Netlify vs your own servers

The same frontends, an API, a worker and Postgres fit on one 8 GB, 4 vCPU cloud server. Servers of that size typically cost around 25 to 50 USD a month depending on the provider, with a generous traffic allowance.

One own server with Deployment Starter4925 to 5074 to 99, everything included

On pure cost, Netlify wins for this team. The server only comes out ahead once you also pay for an API host, a database and a queue worker somewhere else, or once credit packs climb into the hundreds. In exchange for the flat bill you take on capacity planning, backups and patching. Starter has one member, so a team that needs shared access, roles and an audit log looks at Team. The Netlify alternative comparison covers migration steps and where Netlify still wins.

When Netlify is the right buy

Stay on Netlify when the site is mostly static, traffic is moderate and nobody wants to own a server. Branch previews, forms and a fast CDN are hard to match for a pure frontend team, and Pro with unlimited members is good value.

When Deployment fits the team

Move when the frontend is only one of several services, when you want one place for git push deploys, rollbacks and zero downtime releases across the frontend, API and workers, or when customers want workloads in your own cloud account. Deployment manages servers on AWS, DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Linode and Vultr, or bare metal over SSH.
